Anita Poulas, age 96, of Fremont passed away, Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Nye Pointe Health & Rehab in Fremont.
Anita M. Poulas, 96 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Nye Pointe in Fremont.
Anita was born January 29, 1925 to Joseph and Marie (Kudlac) Vrba in Clarkson, NE. She grew up in rural Clarkson and graduated from high school in Clarkson. In 1944, she married James Poulas and moved to a farm near Schuyler, NE. Anita and her husband moved to North Bend, NE to farm in 1956 and finally resided in Fremont in 1990.
Anita dedicated her life to volunteering. She volunteered for many years at the Low Income Ministry in Fremont. In her spare time, she loved to sew.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Patrick Women, and the Catholic Daughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Virginia Guillory; sister, Wilma (Loran) Votruba; and brother-in-law, Frank Vodvarka.
She is survived by her daughter, Imogene (Bob) Kucera; sons, Jim (Jan) Poulas and Ron (Maxine) Poulas all of Fremont; son-in-law, Dan Guillory of Bentonville, AR; sister, Gladys Vodvarka; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one on the way; and 1 great-great grandchild and one on the way.
Funeral Mass will be 1:30 P.M., Thursday, February 11, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Fr. Walter Nolte will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to Mass at Church.
Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
