Obituary for Beverley Newman (Penrod)
Beverley Jean Newman, age 72 of Elkhorn, Nebraska formerly Fremont passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Life Care Center of Elkhorn.
She was born May 30, 1949 in Gainesville, MO to William and Hannah (Wright) Penrod. She lived in Missouri, grew up mostly in Hutchinson, Kansas and came to Nebraska in about 1980. Bev was a waitress at several cafes in Kansas and Nebraska. She lived in various towns including Norfolk and Fremont until moving to Elkhorn a couple of years ago.
Bev enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and coloring. She loved spending time with family and friends.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Wolf; brothers, Robert and Joseph Penrod; sisters, Hester McMurphy, Kathy Rowe and Marilyn Hunter.
She is survived by her daughters, Celeste Wolf-Schiermann and husband Mark of Fremont and Melody Reynolds of Louisville, NE; brother, Dale Corley of Hutchinson, KS; sister, Kathy Hillhouse; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service later this year and interment will follow at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
