Obituary for Daniel Richter
Daniel (Dan) J. Richter, 65 years, of Fenton, MI passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 in his home in Fenton.
He was born August 8, 1957 in Fremont, Nebraska to Leo and Maxine (Cornelius) Richter. He was a graduate of Fremont High School. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Dan worked as an engineer for the oil industry in Dallas, TX. He then worked for General Motors at their proving grounds in Michigan until retirement.
Dan was a huge fan of University of Nebraska sports - especially football and volleyball. He also was an avid car racing spectator and attended many Formula 1, Indy, and NASCAR races. He loved touring museums and learning about history. He also enjoyed model cars, music and riding new bicycle trails. In high school he excelled in art. In the summer he gardened, raising tomatoes for his own salsa recipes. At the holidays, you could find Dan playing various board and video games with his nephews.
Dan is survived by siblings James Richter of Overland Park, KS, Kimberly (Michael) Siedell of Waverly, NE, Jeffrey (Sharon) Richter of Fremont, NE, Kathleen Landis of Ashland, NE and many nephews, grand- nephews, and grand-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Gloria Richter; nephew Ross Richter; and grand-niece, Amanda Richter.
Graveside service will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, NE.
Memorials may be given to Children's Hospital in Omaha, NE.
