Obituary for Darryl "Danny" Stricklett
Darryl Gene "Danny" Stricklett, age 67, of Mesa, AZ passed away February 12, 2021 to be with Jesus.
He led a great life. He's been living with his sister Mary for the last 16 years, since the passing of his parents Rink and Sue. He was proceeded in death by 2 of his 3 brothers, Blaine and Randy. His oldest brother Bruce {Chris}, sisters Mary {Al} Zinn, and Angie and Grace Stricklett are still living. Danny loved everyone and everyone loved him. If he got upset at anyone or anything it would be forgotten in a couple minutes.
He had a real love for classic cars. He would go through magazines and car books for hours. Pick out his favorites and the one he thought were your favorites and discuss them with you. He would always say can I buy this one for you. He had a giving heart.
He also had a real love for going with his brother Bruce when ever he could. If the ball game was at 7am or 7 pm he would be dressed in his ball attire including shoes, waiting by the window to be picked up. He was known through out the Phoenix area as the Bat Man. He loved retrieving everyone's bat and placing it back where ever they should go. He never missed a game. He had his own uniforms and the one with his name on it , that one He wore with such great pride.He was always a helping hand and wasn't afraid of work. He'd help you with whatever needed to be done and you never had to tell him twice.
He was Mary's pool boy and he took great pride in having a clean pool. One She could be proud of as well as Himself. Danny also worked hard at All American Fund Raising in Waterloo, Nebraska for many years. He really enjoyed his time there.
He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and so many that only met him at the ball tournaments or games. He so loved it when he would get his picture taken with the winning team and get a new ball shirt. If He could look at each of us and say good-by it would be with his "Smile" that would melt your heart and fill you with joy.
Services will be held back in Nebraska later this year.
