Obituary for Donald "Don" Bartunek Sr.
Donald J. “Don” Bartunek Sr., 65 years, of North Bend, NE passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont, NE.
Don was born February 5, 1955 in Omaha, NE to Paul and Betty (Land) Bartunek. He grew up in south Omaha and graduated from South High School. After graduation, he worked as a bricklayer for many years. He also worked as an over the road truck driver until his retirement.
Don loved to bowl, golf, play pool and shuffleboard, and fish. He was very handy at making crafts and cupboards, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his family, especially his brother-in-law, Bob Wolf. Don lived his life the way he wanted. He was a very outspoken person and honest.
He was a Shriner member and a Keystone Kop.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Don is survived by his sons, Donald (Brittany) Bartunek Jr. and Charles (Melissa) Bartunek; partner, Kathy (Olsen) Bartunek; stepson, Shawn Preitauer; stepdaughter, Michelle (Ron) Wintersein; brothers, Paul (Nancy) Bartunek, and Randy (Kelly) Bartunek; brother-in-law, Bob (Pat) Wolf; sisters, Linda (Jim) Kusek, Sandy (Steve) Heiman, and Judy (Tom) Bauers; grandchildren, Ella, Bailey, Cale, and DJ.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend, NE.
