Obituary for Frances "Fran" Osbon (Elbracht)

Frances M. “Fran” Osbon, 90 years, of Omaha, NE formerly Fremont, NE passed away Friday, February 11, 2022 at Bickford Assisted Living in Omaha.

Fran was born on October 21, 1931 to Anton and Sophie (Ridder) Elbracht in Howells, NE. Fran grew up in Howells and graduated from Howells High School. After high school she moved to Fremont to work at a law office as a secretary and paralegal. Fran later worked for Equitable Federal Savings and Loan and became Vice President. Fran then worked at the Fremont Area Community Foundation until retiring.

During Fran’s younger years, she enjoyed going dancing and met the love of her life, Donald M. Osbon at Peony Park Ballroom in Omaha. On June 15, 1957, Fran married Don at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Fran and her family went on many camping trips. She later created an annual tradition with her grandchildren and daughter Patti, of camping/hiking trips through the mountains of Colorado, Wyoming, Nantucket and Alaska. Fran spent much of her time, with her siblings, golfing, quilting, gardening and enjoying her grandchildren. If anyone, anytime asked, “where is Nana Fran?” the answer was always…….outside.

Fran was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don; daughter, Teri Osbon-Kitzelman; brothers, Ted, Herman, Aloise (infant), and Hank; sister, Mary Elbracht; and brothers-in-law, Duane Kantor and Art Renner.

She is survived by her daughter, Patti Brannon; sisters Florence Renner, Jean (Rich) Sellhorst, Wilma Kantor, and Alice (Bill) Andresen; sister-in-law, Carol Elbracht, grandchildren, Ian Brannon and Halle Brannon; son-in-law, Mark Kitzelman; 19 nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be at 3 P.M., Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn, NE. A Celebration Party will follow at the Goodlife Lounge, 1129 S. 180th St., Elkhorn, NE from 4 -7 P.M..

A private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lauritzen Gardens, Donate to Lauritzen Gardens Memorial Fund
