Obituary for Janet Brohimer

Janet E. Brohimer, age 75 of Tecumseh, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Good Samaritan Society in Syracuse, NE. She was born April 28, 1946 in Newark, New Jersey to Allen and Clara (Burbach) Brohimer.

Janet was a 1964 graduate of Archbishop Bergan High School in Fremont and graduated in 1965 from the practical nursing program in Lincoln. She then worked at the old St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln in the intensive care and coronary care units until coming back to Fremont. She worked for Campbell Soup Company as an industrial nurse from 1969 to 1991 in Fremont until they closed and then continued in Tecumseh after being transferred. She administered First Aid, Hearing tests and ran numerous health and safety programs and training for the employees at those facilities for 29 years. In 1998 she was hired at the American Meter Company in Nebraska City, NE after Campbells closed the Tecumseh plant in late 1997. She was the Supervisor of Safety and Health in the Human Resource department retiring in 2011 after 13 years, she always remarked about how many wonderful people she was able to get to know. It was amazing how every time she went somewhere she would run into someone she knew or had met through the years. She enjoyed living and working on her acreage just outside of Tecumseh. Her hobbies included improving her home and doing machine embroidery and quilting along with enjoying her animals and some gardening. She really liked hosting family reunions.

She is survived by her siblings, brothers, Dave (Gerry) Brohimer of Virginia Beach, VA, Kirk Brohimer, Ed (Kelly) Brohimer of Fremont, Tom Brohimer of Mission Viejo, CA and Mike (Teresa) Brohimer of Lincoln: sisters, Joyce (Douglas) Steel of Anchorage, AK, Theresa (Russell) Pester of Ellisville, MS and Dianne (Joseph) Roof of Fremont and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
