Obituary for Janice Hughes (Workman)
Janice Hughes, age 73 born in Humboldt, NE, lived in Fremont, NE, passed away Sunday, March 13th, 2022.
She is survived by her sons, Travis Workman (Judy Paasch), J.C. (Vanessa) Hughes; Daughter, Rochelle (Josh) VanBuskirk; Grandchildren, Jarred Workman, Kylie Alvarado (Bryan), Hayley Irving, Eleise Hughes, Lexy Irving, Julia Hughes, Ty Workman; Brother, Gaylon Workman; Sister, Rosemary Kiene.
Preceding her in death, Daughter; Renae Hughes; Husband, Jerald Hughes; Special Friend, Daniel Morton.
Janice was raised in Elmwood, NE where she attended Elmwood High School. She enjoyed feeding others, including making her famous biscuits & gravy or ham & bean soup. She loved to get together with her family to play poker, but maybe more importantly to her, talk smack. Granny was always taking care of others in any way that she was able, from cleaning up your kitchen (even if it truly didn’t need it), to helping raise many of the children that grew up around her.
A memorial service will be 10 A.M., Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation with family receiving friends will be Wednesday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Moser’s.
Luncheon will follow the service at the D.A.V. - 137 N. D St. Fremont, NE
