Obituary for Jerry Sackett
Jerry A. Sackett, 82 years of Cedar Bluffs, NE passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at South Haven living center in Wahoo, NE. He was born on January 18, 1940 in Sheep Ranch, CA to Charles and Evelyn (Jahnke) Sackett.
Jerry grew up in Iowa and graduated from Corning High School in 1958. He served in the Army National Guard. On April 12, 1964, he married Shirley Buchanan in Loveland CO. He worked in pipeline construction over the years including Reutzel Construction and retired from Kinley Construction in 2010.
Jerry dedicated most of his life to working hard to provide for his family. He traveled with his wife numerous times to Arizona in the RV. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and enjoyed every minute with his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Michelle (Dan) Eby of Lexington, NE, Suzanne (Jim) Westerfield of Racine, WI, Stephanie (Trent) Winn of Fremont, NE; brother, Greg (Cindy) Sackett of Corning, IA; sister, Elaine (Gerald) Lyman of Creston, IA; 6 grandchildren, Haley (David ) Johnston, Ashlyn Westerfield, Peyton Eby, Landon, Ryder and Saylor Winn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be 2 P.M., Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs, NE. Rev. Mark Weber will officiate. Burial will take place at the Prairie Rose Cemetery near Corning, IA at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for further designation.
