Obituary for Jimmie Allender

Jimmie Lee Allender 89 of Morse Bluff, Nebraska passed away Friday March 15, 2024, just 109 days after his wife, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 3, 1934 in Fremont to William James and Violet (Beerbohm) Allender.

Jimmie served in the US Marine Corps from August 6, 1956 to August 5, 1958. On November 4, 1961 he married Dee Ann Buchholtz. The two had a dedicated and loyal love for each other that began at the beginning of their courtship and grew throughout their lives.

Jimmie worked for Iron Workers, Local 21 in Omaha. A couple of the many projects he worked was the American National Bank sign, on 90th & Maple, in Omaha & notably the Lied Jungle. at the world famous, Henry Doorly Zoo. He worked with dedication in his field until he suffered a life altering work injury in January, 1985. This left him unable to return to his profession.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristina Allender, son-in-law, Mike Walsh, brothers, Billie Allender and Gene Allender; granddaughters, Molly (Austin) Edmister and Morgan Allender; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dee Ann in November 2023; son, Talbert Allender; mother and father-in-law; and sisters, Peggy and Jane.

Jimmie’s wish was that there would be no public services for him.
