Obituary for Joel Haugaard
Joel D. Haugaard, 60 years of Hooper, NE passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Methodist Fremont Health in Fremont, NE.
Joel was born on October 31, 1962 to Jens and Alda (Burbach) Haugaard in Fremont, NE. He spent his childhood around Winslow, NE. In the 1980’s, Joel met Brenda (Vela) Hagedorn and became her partner until later in life. Joe worked as a truck driver most of his life, retiring in 2018.
Over the years he loved to ride motorcycles and travel across the country. He enjoyed spending time with his token grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; soulmate, Brenda; and Brandi’s husband, Jesse Cady.
He is survived by Brenda’s daughter, Brandi Cady and her children Quentin, Bren, and Cash Cady; sisters, Linda (Rick) Johnson, and Cathy (Ron) Sladky; brothers, John (Trish) Haugaard, Tom Haugaard, and Jerry (Tammy) Haugaard; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 13, 2023 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Chaplain Scott Jensen will officiate. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
