Obituary for LeRoy Stodola
LeRoy G. Stodola, 84 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Nye Legacy in Fremont.
LeRoy was born June 19, 1936 to Rudolph and Kathleen (Ruhr) Stodola in North Bend, NE. He served in the U.S. Army. On May 16, 1956, LeRoy married Mary Ann Labenz at St. Francis of Assisi in Humphrey, NE.
LeRoy enjoyed fishing, gardening, Nebraska Football, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and always tried his lucky number 1079 at Keno.
He was a member of the Fremont Volunteer Fire Department and the F.O.E. Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Milo; and sister Kathleen Stodola Gale.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Sherry (Brian) Wiese; son’s Terry Stodola, Gary (Zoann) Stodola, and Larry (Patty) Stodola; grandchildren, Jeremy Stodola, Melissa Stodola, Rudi (Nate) Neuberger, Charlee Wiese (fiancé, Kyle Bierman), Tabitha Wiese, Toni Wiese; great grandchild, Jake Stodola; and step grandchildren, Curtis Morris and Carl Morris.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father Nicholas Mishek will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary starting at 7 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
