Obituary for Lonny Oerman

Lonny L. Oerman, age 58 of Hooper, Nebraska passed away, Friday, December 18, 2020 at Methodist Fremont Health in Fremont, NE. Lonny was born January 29, 1962 in Fremont to Leslie and Pearl (Thomsen) Oerman.

Lonny graduated from Arlington High School in 1980. He worked for Valmont for many years and was a truck driver for Structural Components in Fremont. Lonny spent much of his life surrounded by livestock and horses. In high school, he was involved in the Little Britches Rodeo. He team roped at the Appaloosa World Show in Fort Worth, TX. As Lonny’s children grew, he helped them participate in horse and livestock shows. After his children attended college, he became a rodeo judge in the IRA and the bull riding director for high school in the state of Iowa. Lonny was very involved in his children’s activities and lived for his grandchildren.

Lonny was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hooper and the Appaloosa Horse Association.

Survived by sons, Lance (Angela) Oerman and Lawson Oerman; daughter, Lindsay (Cody) Moseman; brother, Leslie (JoNel) Oerman, Jr. and 7 grandchildren.

Lonny was preceded in death by his parents; sister Deborah Oerman and nephew, Lane Oerman.

Funeral will be 2 P.M., Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Hooper, NE. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and will continue form 1-2 P.M, on Wednesday at the church.
