Obituary for Lynn Anson
Lynn C. Anson, age 79, of Fremont, Nebraska, died Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa.
Lynn was born February 16, 1944 in Fremont, to George and Irma (Bowen) Anson. He was a 1962 graduate of Fremont High School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years. Lynn married Vicki Brandt on August 20, 1966, at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. Vicki died on March 18, 2019.
Lynn was a fireman for the City of Fremont for 27 years, retiring in 1999. After retirement, he was employed by the Fremont Public Schools for 10 years, retiring in 2010. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #20 of Fremont and 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200.
Lynn is survived by daughter, Brenda (Lyle) Bolkema of Sheldon, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Justin (Katie) Bolkema from Morton, Illinois; Breanna (Wyatt) Cook from Sheldon, Iowa; Courtney (Phil) Lammers from Boyden, Iowa; 5 great grandchildren- Emme, Marlie, Trityn, Kiptyn, and Ty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother (Brooke Anson).
Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Lyle Bolkema will officiate. Burial at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at Big Red Keno.
Memorials are directed to the Fremont Fire Department.
