Obituary for Lynn Keller

Lynn M. Keller age, 89 of Fremont, passed away, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Hospice House in Omaha. He was born August 28, 1931 to Paul and Mary (Hull) Keller on the family farm in rural Saunders county.

Lynn grew up on the farm and graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School in 1948. He then worked for Hormel until being drafted into the US Navy, where he served from January 10, 1951 to November 12, 1954 during the Korean War. He returned to Cedar Bluffs where he farmed for the next 30 years. Lynn married Sharon Dvorak in 1955 at North Bend, NE. In 1986 they moved to Fremont. He worked as an electrician and had his own business where he worked at Schuyler Pack, ADM in Columbus and several other companies. He retired in 1996.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Bluffs. American Legion Post #158 of Cedar Bluffs, 40 & 8 Voiture 1018 of Fremont, past President of the Pohocco Township Board, and was a 4-H Leader.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Sharon of Fremont; son, Tracy Keller of Peoria, AZ; daughters, Carmen (Gary) Walkenhorst of Fremont, June (Greg) Shanahan of Elkhorn, NE, Jacci (Kevin) Kerwin of Columbus, NE and Jill (Doug) Hoops of North Bend; sister-in-law Dolores (Bill) Dahlheim of Gretna, NE; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Katie (Jay) McGee – Makenna & Kysten, Jeni (Mike) Erikson – Zach & Zoe, Josh (Valerie) Shanahan – Paisley, Megan (Jake) Aufenkamp – Cruz, Levin, Hudson & Brex, Lindsay (Anthony) Leivas – Hayden & Brooklyn, Kelsey (Jerimy) McDonald – Jemma & Kora, Marcus (Katie) Shanahan – Lucas, Julia & JJ, Tyler (Mandy) Hoops – Maxton & Hadley, MacKenzie (Jason) Svarc – Izley & Ava, Kaelyn (Ben) Schroeder – James & Emma, Eric (Kiley) Shanahan, Cortland Kerwin (Trenton Haltom) and Marissa (Deven) Ortmeier – Laker and 2 great grandbabies on the way in 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Wayne Keller and Kenneth (Harriette) Keller and mother and father in-law, Wilma and Alvin Dvorak.

Funeral will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 5, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Bluffs, NE. Rev. Earl Underwood will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M., Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue on Friday 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Military Honors will be conducted by the North Bend Honor Guard of VFW Post #8223 and AM Vets Post #20 of North Bend, and American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff, NE at the church following the Funeral.

Interment will be at the Omaha National Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Cedar Bluffs American Legion Post #158 and the Sons of The American Legion in Cedar Bluffs.
