Obituary for Mary Butterfield (Gilman)
Mary M. Butterfield, 77 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Omaha, NE. She was born April 28, 1943 in Norfolk, NE to Franklin and Mildred (Gullicksen) Gilman.
Mary was born in Norfolk, moved to Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1962. She worked as a nurse’s aide. Mary married Carroll Butterfield on May 14, 1967, they resided in several places due to Carrol’s construction jobs; including Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska.
She enjoyed embroidery, word search puzzles, babysitting for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the children in the neighborhood.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Judy (Alan) Acker of Fremont, Kathy Butterfield of West Point, NE; sisters, Betty (Robert) Tabor of Fremont, Lois Parris of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother-in-law, Robert Parris; nephew, Russell Childs; niece, Sunday Bockelmann; and great nephew, Tyler Childs.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2020 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation 2-5 PM Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Moser’s. Following guidelines, masks and social distancing are requested.
Burial is in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont, NE
