Obituary for Michael "Mike" McGinn
Mike Marvin Patrick McGinn, 69 years, of North Bend, NE, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Methodist Fremont Health.
Mike was born on August 12, 1953, to Marvin and Irene (Spath) McGinn in Fremont, NE. He grew up in North Bend, NE, and graduated from North Bend High School in 1971. Mike worked at McGinn’s IGA during high school. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and earned his degree in business. He later worked to sell insurance and retired from OPPD after many years of service. Mike also farmed the family ground in North Bend.
Mike was a man who would help anyone. His grandchildren meant the world to him. In his spare time, Mike loved to golf, tailgate, play cards, and go airboating.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Patrick and Jimmy McGinn.
He is survived by: his children, Seth (Sonja) McGinn, Audrey McGinn, Erica File, and Emmily McGinn (Michael Christian); grandchildren, Jacob, Gunnar, Alexis, Reid, Lynden, Henley, Vivian, and Scarlet.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2022, at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Parish Center in North Bend, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary starting at 7 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend, NE.
Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend, NE.
Memorials may be directed to the North Bend Golf Course.
