Obituary for Nadine Johannes
Nadine Joyce Johannes, 89, of Fremont, NE, formerly of Scribner, NE, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont.
Nadine was born April 17, 1931, in Scribner, NE, to Earl and Dorothy (Bassett) Sievers. She grew up in Scribner and graduated from Scribner High School. Nadine married Arden Johannes on Nov. 13, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont.
She was a dedicated farm wife and mother for many years in rural Hooper. Nadine enjoyed time spent as a snowbird to Texas every winter with Arden. Some of Nadine’s hobbies include camping, fishing and appreciating the outdoors. Arden passed away June 20, 1995, and Nadine moved into Fremont.
Nadine is survived by her daughters, Carol Babcock of Fremont and Laura (Rich) Kielman of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Stephen (Betty) Johannes of Fremont; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arden; brother and sister in law, Lyle and Joyce Sievers; daughter in law, Gayle Johannes; and infant son.
Private family graveside service will be held at Scribner Cemetery in Scribner, NE.
