Nicholas “Nick” E. Hoge, 61, of Oakland, NE., passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Mercy One Hospital in Oakland, NE. Nick was born September 6, 1959 in Fremont, NE., to Alfred and E. Dorothy (Lovelady) Peterson. He attended Fremont Public Schools. He lived around the Fremont and Oakland area where he worked at the Oakland Golf Course for the past 19 years, where he made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, watching sports, and playing pool in the West Point Men’s pool league. He also enjoyed playing pool at the Fallout Bar in Lyons.

Survivors include his daughter, Cali (Christopher) Howell of New Martinsville, WV.; mother, Dorothy Hoge of Fremont, NE.; sister Joyce (Steve) Shellgren of Fremont, NE.; brother, Darin Peterson and Denisha Osborne of Fremont, NE.; granddaughter, Aurora Howell, and nieces and nephews, Jesse, Riley, Sierra, Shawnea, Shatarra, and Dustin.

He was preceded in death by father, Alfred and brother, Gleave Hoge.

Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, NE.

Memorials may be designated to the Family for a charity yet to be determined.

I’m very sorry to have just read this. Nick and I grew up together. Our parents were friends when we were very young. I’m sorry for your loss Dorothy. Nickie and I had lots of laughs and I’ll remember him always. Blessings to all the family.

Dorothy.......I am so sorry to hear of your son Nick's passing. He might not have remembered me but I remember him from school. I graduated in '77 from Fremont High School. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. May he rest in peace...
