Obituary for Randy Bartunek
Randy L. Bartunek, 69 of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at Methodist Fremont Health. He was born December 11, 1952 in Columbus, NE to Ervin and Betty (Thomas) Bartunek.
Randy grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School. He worked for Hormel for many years. He then owned Bart’s Hunting & Supplies. Randy married Nancy Lunn May 28, 1977 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. He was a former member of Elkhorn Valley Rifle Club and was a gunsmith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially camping. He and several buddies went deer hunting in the sandhills every year.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; sons, Jeremy Bartunek and Jacob (Lisa Divis) Bartunek all of Fremont; brother, Gregory Bartunek of Seagoville, TX; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Randy) Jensen of Lake Kiowa, TX, Deb (Robert) Saunders of Waverly, NE, Rita (Mike) Erixson of Lincoln and Debbie Lunn of Blair, NE; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Edward Bartunek, brother-in-law, Brian Lunn and his in laws, Norman Lunn and Lorraine Herout.
Funeral will be 11 A.M., Monday, December 5, 2022 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont.Rev. Shari Schwedhelm will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M., Monday also at the church.
Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont at a later date.
