Obituary for Roger Hansen
Roger Allen Hansen age 77 of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Wisner Care Center in Wisner, NE. He was born September 3, 1944 in Blair, NE to LeRoy and Violet (Evans) Hansen.
Roger grew up in the Blair area and attended Arlington schools. He served in the US army from July 30, 1965 to August 22, 1967 during Vietnam. After the military he lived at Casper, Wyoming, Las Vegas, Nevada, Jackson, Tennessee, North Bend, NE and finally Fremont. Roger Married Karen Maben May of 1972 in Fremont. Roger worked in the auto shop as a mechanic at Kmart in Fremont for 35 Years. After they closed, he still worked on cars for many years.
He was a member of the Fremont Alliance Church and North Bend VFW Post #8223.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Sam, Mark and Jerry (Deserae) Hansen all of Fremont; step-son, Larry Davis of Omaha; brothers, Roy Hansen of Florida, Ed (Linda) Hansen and Richard (Marian) Hansen all of Blair; sisters, Ann Hansen of Fremont and Sharon (Lanny) Bobo of Colorado; 9 grandchildren, Chad, Malorie and Braedyn Hansen, Nicholas, Chelsey and Angel Marshall, Autumn and Austin Voss and Dominic Hansen; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ron, Larry, Jerald, and Wayne Hansen; and sister, Linda.
Memorial Service 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Tom Nevius will officiate with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard of VFW Post. 854 and American Legion Post #20. Burial will be at a later date at Lincoln Lutheran Cemetery at Orum, NE.
