Mr. Fittje was my teacher and coach through Jr and Sr HS. He was the kind of coach that made the most difficult track workouts fun. He taught us with a straight forward approach, dry sense of humor, humility and ability to sing the pop hits of the day--"Oh what a night..."
I left North Bend and returned 30 years later where he recognized me in a large crowd. He was the kind of teacher every kid deserves to know, we will never forget him. Thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family.

Pat and family, We have many fond memories of Ron. LeRoy played fast pitch with him for a few years. Ron and daughter painted our garage back in the early 90's one summer. He was a great guy and will be missed by many. We know the last years weren't easy for him so we are glad he is at peace. Let your memories bring you smiles, your family and friends give you comfort and God grant you peace. With love and sympathy, LeRoy and Janis Poppe, Scribner
