Obituary for Wayne Bonestroo
Wayne A. Bonestroo, 48 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at his home.
Wayne was born on February 27, 1974 to Ronald Bonestroo and Boni (Pilkenton) Myers in Sioux Center, IA. He lived in Hull, IA until the age of twenty, and then moved to Fremont.
Wayne loved spending time with friends and family, relaxing by a camp fire and grilling. He also loved golfing, watching Nascar/Demo Derbys and was an avid lover of all things sports related. He enjoyed watching his kids, nephew and nieces sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal and Maternal Grandparents, several Aunts and Uncles and son, Cody Gartemaker.
He is survived by his sons, Jordan (Taylor) Bonestroo of Sioux Falls, SD, Austin Settles of Fremont, NE, and Awa Dalton Bonestroo of New Zealand and daughter, Danica (Garrett) Rang of Sioux Falls, SD; parents, Ronald Bonestroo of Hull, IA and Bonita Myers of Fremont, NE; sister, Veronica (Nick) Barnhart, of Cedar Bluffs, NE; nephew, Cole Barnhart of Fremont and nieces, Morgan and Collins Barnhart both of Cedar Bluffs; foreign exchange niece, Leah Jansen of the Netherlands; and granddaughter, Gracelynn Rang.
A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at the Fremont F.O.E. Eagles Club in Fremont, NE on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Family will receive friends and family from 12-1 with a service starting at 1:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Scott Jensen, Open House Luncheon from 2 – 4pm.
The family would invite you to wear purple in honor of Wayne’s favorite color.
